How the totals work
Base estimate = sum of quantity × estimated unit cost. Total budget = base estimate × (1 + contingency percentage ÷ 100). Per-person budget divides that total by travelers; daily budget divides it by the inclusive number of trip days.
Example: a three-day trip for two
Flights: 2 × $200 = $400. Hotel: 2 nights × $150 = $300. Food: 3 days × $80 = $240. Local travel: $60. Base estimate: $1,000. With 10% contingency: $1,100 total, $550 per traveler and $366.67 per day for the group.
What to include
Remember baggage, airport transfers, accommodation taxes, resort fees, travel insurance, activities, visas and mobile data. Actual spending is entered once per expense line, rather than multiplied by quantity.
This planner uses your entries. It does not search live fares or convert currencies. Keep every cost in the chosen currency.
